Patch Bamboo Bandages

Full disclosure – I received this product in return for this reveiw.

I’ve got to admit, I’m a bit of a klutz. I bump into things. I trip over things. And we have cats. I always have some sort of cut or bruise or scrape. So when I was asked to try Patch Bamboo Bandages, I was more than happy to give them a try.

The bandages arrived in an adorable box with cute panda graphics. The first thing I noticed was the packaging. Patch bamboo bandages come in sturdy cardboard cylinders that are fully compostable, and are excellent in protecting the bandages inside. These cylinders are great for travel or for just tossing in your bag for on-the-go. I was eager to give them a try.

PATCH Bamboo Bandages come in 4 varieties – Activated Charcoal for bites and splinters, Panda bandages with coconut oil for kids, Aloe Vera for burns and bruises and Natural for cuts and scratches. PATCH bamboo strips are a 100% compostable and hypoallergenic. Made from 100% organic bamboo fiber, PATCH bandages are free of plastics, latex, silicone, and harmful toxins. As soon as my daughter, who loves pandas, saw the Panda bandages, she grabbed the cylinder and declared that those were hers. I did get one to try out, but she’s not shareing the rest. 🙂

Testing the Patch Bamboo Bandages

Given that I’m me, it didn’t take long for an opportunity to use one of the bandages presented itself when I somehow managed to scrape my arm while cleaning the bathroom. I’m a big believer in aloe. I have aloe plants in the yard and I put it on everything from sunburn to bug bites. So the Natural Bamboo Strip with Aloe Vera was the bandage I chose.

The Patch bandage has a soft feel to it, much nicer than the standard plastic bandage. The area that covers the wound is bigger than standard plastic bandages as well. Patch bamboo bandages are natural, hypoallergenic and breathable, and the bandage felt good on my skin. It went on easily and did not pull at the little hairs on my arm. My scrape was well protected and healed up quickly. The next day I managed to get a cut on my finger while playing with my cat. I put another Patch Aloe bandage on that. While the bandage still went on easily and felt good on my skin, the bandage did not like to get wet. It fell off the first time I washed my hands. However, the Patch bandage on my arm stayed put just fine. My daughter used a Patch Panda bandage on her leg, and that stayed put as well. So, I probably will not use any more on our hands, but they are great everywhere else.

So in conclusion, I really liked the PATCH Bamboo Bandages. Aside from the bandages not sticking to our fingers after getting wet, they worked well everywhere else. I’ve had an opportunity try them several times now (like I said earlier, I am a klutz) and they feel better and seem to work better than traditional plastic bandage strips. I like that PATCH bandages are eco-friendly. They are 100% organic bamboo fiber and 100% compostable – bandages and all packaging breaks down into soil. I love that they are hypoallergenic as I have sensitive skin. And I just love those little pandas on the kids bandages.
